Painted Lady

One of our FoTM members sent me this photo of a Painted Lady taken by Old Lea/Coppermill Stream on 30th June.  A little beyond the Tottenham Marshes but in the adjacent area which is the site of the proposed Walthamstow Wetlands.  Thanks, Mick.

A Snowy Bird Survey on 20th January 2013

Soft snow kept falling as we walked around the Marshes – it really was a winter wonderland.  Mark went back after the survey and captured some atmospheric images.           Even the canal was mainly ice-covered above Stonebridge Lock

Pete Lambert  has reported the following during late September: 12th September Winchat,  East Marsh 2oth September, First Goldcrest of autumn and Common Gull 22nd September Winchat,  Clendish Marsh 27th September, Great Crested Grebe on Lee (rarity on the marshes), First Redpoll of autumn, Peregrine still on gasometer.   DMC
