Painted Lady
/0 Comments/in uncategorized /by adminOne of our FoTM members sent me this photo of a Painted Lady taken by Old Lea/Coppermill Stream on 30th June. A little beyond the Tottenham Marshes but in the adjacent area which is the site of the proposed Walthamstow Wetlands. Thanks, Mick.

Thanks go to Chamara for this lovely set of photos – hope I’ve identified them correctly (not sure about the Skipper?!)
Edit – David Cottridge has confirmed it is an Essex Skipper and the dark brown butterfly is a female Ringlet (I couldn’t see the rings but I should have noticed the rounded edge of the hindwing!)
